SUSTAINABILITY REPORT PENNY ROMANIA 2020 10/132 PENNY Romania: a responsible company The success story of the PENNY discount store started in Romania in 2005. Then, we opened the first two stores and immediately gained the confidence that wewill be able to achieve newambitious expansion plans. We believed, since 2005, that the discounter model will succeed in Romania and that we will be able to fulfill our mission to provide customers with a fair value for the money they spend in our stores. It all started to grow in 2020, after 15 years of activity under the Penny Market brand, when we decided to accelerate our expansion under the new unique brand PENNY. With the rebranding process, PENNY also launched a new communication platform - "We save money, not love ”. In 2020, we were proud to reached a total number of 276 stores. As we grow, we become more and more engaged in the mission to constantly improve the shopping experience in our stores. That's why we continuously optimize the store’s format and we adapt to new consumer behaviors. The new PENNY concept is built on the idea that we can do smart shopping without giving up the joys of life - tasty and fresh products, special moments with loved ones, passions - all the simple and natural things that make us live a beautiful life.
