SUSTAINABILITY REPORT PENNY ROMANIA 2020 35/132 Sustainability Steering Committee Coordinated by the CEO Interdepartmental Executive Committees on Sustainability Coordinated by the Sustainability Manager It meets annually to monitor the implementation of the strategy and gives recommendations on the team’s next steps. They havemonthlymeetings and are divided based on the three strategic pillars. They have the role of supporting initiatives in the field of sustainability and in accelerating the implementation of measures. It ensures coherence at communication level and addresses specific aspects of the sustainability strategy, with a focus on project implementation. Starting from a strong principle, internationally established directions for business practices based on sustainability, but also the three pillars – „Sustainable Assortment”, „Energy, Climate and Resources” and „Employees and Society”, we set up the Sustainability Steering Committee, meant to introduce the new concept in our business operations. The Sustainability Steering Committee functions as a decision-making and brainstorming body, setting goals and measuring performance and progress in terms of sustainability. This committee is chaired by the CEO of PENNY Romania, who coordinates the entire sustainability team, which includes a Sustainability Manager and other key functions that manage operational aspects of each strategic pillar. The Sustainability Manager focuses on defining and promoting the sustainability strategy, provides advice to assess business opportunities and risks, sizes up impacted operational processes and supports the development of specific strategies within the three pillars.
