SUSTAINABILITY REPORT PENNY ROMANIA 2020 42/132 The areas of action in our sustainability strategy were calibrated based on the materiality analysis. After an internal analysis, we managed to group the topics in three broad categories, which eventually highlighted the strategic pillars: Sustainable Assortment, Energy, Climate and Resources, Employees and Society. Economic material themes identified internally (Governance and Sustainable Management, Risk Management andCompliance) represent essential topics that drive the PENNY business, as part of REWE Group. They were analyzed both internally and externally considering multiples factors and contexts of analysis. According to corroborated data and internal analyzes performed, the internal and external scope of the material topics is different assuming a handful of limitations in the need and interest of the stakeholder groups. The content of this report was defined taking into account these limitations and interests. Compared to the previous year, we narrowed the material topics in the sense in which some of them detailed in the previous years reports, were aggregated and considered as specific aspects per material theme.
