Raport sustenabilitate
SUSTAINABILITY REPORT PENNY ROMANIA 2020 61/132 to the recycling processes. By recycling three Danone Tetra Pak packaging items, each customer automatically received a 100% discount voucher for an Activia Natur drink at the following purchase. Thus, our customers were able to contribute directly to the improvement of the recycling processes initiated within the five participating stores. We are aware of the major role we can play in this process and we are eager to contribute in this regard. Moreover, thevisionunderlying this project is aprofound correlation between the strategic approaches of both PENNY and Danone, the campaign's main partner. We believe that this campaign, carried out with the support of the packaging manufacturer, Tetra Tak, and the recycler, Vrancart, was a success. Environmental protection The use of natural resources and the competition for limited resources are two growing trends worldwide. At the same time, global environmental problems are also increasing, such as climate change, soil degradation or biodiversity loss. These challenges are also present in PENNY Romania’s supply chain. The way we intend to manage this situation is to implement elements of circular economy and to support farmers who use environmentally friendly production methods. In our effort to reduce the amount of waste generated and, at the same time, to support responsible waste management, we have organized awareness and support campaigns for selective waste collection within several target groups. Campaigns on packaging “3 AMBALAJE AI RECICLAT ȘI PE LOC EȘTI PREMIAT”(RECYCLE 3 PACKAGING ITEMS AND YOU ARE IMMEDIATELY AWARDED) Through this campaign, we were able to encourage consumers in our stores to bring an active contribution ECObon ECObon is a campaign initiated by Coca-Cola HBC, carried out in partnership with Green Point Management. As part of this action,we installed intelligent PETReverse Vending Machines (RVMs) in three of the PENNY stores in Brașov. In exchange for the return of 10 PET bottles, consumers received two different vouchers issued by the RVM. In return, we offered customers a bottle of Dorna natural mineral water, still or carbonated, bottled in rPET packaging and a shopping voucher valid for shopping in PENNY partner stores. Thus, through the ECO-BON campaign, we managed to encourage the establishment of healthy habits for the environment and at the same time, we collected over 14,000 PETs.
