SUSTAINABILITY REPORT PENNY ROMANIA 2020 64/132 Healthy diet Adopting a healthy diet and having a balanced lifestyle are fundamental to our organizational culture. Whether we are referring to employees or customers, we promote the idea of ​a healthy lifestyle. That is why we place great emphasis on setting high quality standards for the products we sell in our stores. In 2020, within PENNY Romania, we continued to measure the nutritional value of the products in our assortment as part of the mission and plan undertaken at group level. Our internal program for testing and verifying our private label products, by sampling, continued in 2020. The production of fresh items is subject to this audit twice a year, while dry food products go through the process once a year. This process plays a major role in quality management and allows us to set specific requirements for private label products, throughout their value chain: raw material - recipe and labeling - packaging. We consider correct labeling to be one of the main channels of communication with our customers and we always make sure that this is done in accordance with legal provisions regarding the origin, composition, use and expiry date of each product. When we refer to PENNY's private labels, all specifications mentioned on the labels are defined by us together with our suppliers. We make sure the information is as correct as possible. These refer to expiry date, ingredients, chemical and microbiological parameters, information about the material that the packaging is made of.
