We oblige our suppliers, through contractual clauses, not to violate human rights obligations and to ensure this in their own areas of activity, as well as to pass on obligations in the upstream supply chain. It is mandatory for suppliers to provide proof of social audits for production units with a total turnover of more than 1 million Euros; otherwise, the supplier may be delisted from the PENNY portfolio. We implement comprehensive preventive measures to ensure human rights and environmental due diligence obligations within the company and in the supply chain. We have established a publicly accessible complaint mechanism to ensure that indications of human rights and environmental violations are investigated and remedied. On the basis of product risk analyzes performed at the group level, the following critical raw materials have been defined by human scope: coffee, cocoa, tea, palm oil, juices (especially orange juice), fish, fruits, and vegetables such as bananas or pineapple. Particular attention is paid to cotton textiles. Our strategic objective is to have a 100% share of our private label certified products in the selected categories. The percentage of our private label products with at least one type of certification is 28%. In 2022, we started the database analysis and product evaluation, a process that will last until the end of 2023.
