PACKAGING MANAGEMENT EXPLAINING THE IMPACT Packaging plays an important role in maintaining the quality and freshness of products. However, without proper management, it can have many negative effects on the environment, both in the manufacturing of packaging and in its disposal. We face these challenges in PENNY Romania's supply chains, and we believe that it is our responsibility to integrate the use of sustainable packaging, contribute to the implementation of circular economy elements, and encourage consumers on selective collect and prevent food waste. HOW WE CONTROL THE IMPACT We analyze each type of product packaging and seek to identify the most effective options for reducing the environmental impact. We follow a strategy based on the following actions: z reducing the size of packaging and the amount of plastic z improving packaging by implementing elements of the circular economy, and z avoidance pollution encouraging consumers to collect packaging waste separately. The assessment takes into account the percentage of plastic allocated to the products we put on the market, thus monitoring our progress in reducing the environmental impact of the packaging we use.
