Daniel MOREA Maintenance Engineer Lighting Optimizing energy consumption from lighting remains a priority area for us. As this operational activity accounts for a significant share of total energy consumption in stores, we are constantly looking for new ways to optimize this activity. At the same time, we have implemented procedural measures and sensor-based technologies to reduce lighting switch-on times, thereby reducing electricity consumption from this activity. The transition to LED-only lighting, which has been underway since 2019, played a key role in reducing electricity consumption per square meter of sales area in recent years. However, we are constantly looking for new ways to further reduce this consumption. Thus, in 2022 we equipped new stores with new lighting technology, which involves light control and energy management solutions. This technology has an installed power with up to 35% lower than a standard LED systems, which is also transposed into the energy consumption. We will look to expand this technology to other stores, further exploring new energy efficient lighting solutions.
