In this sense, we conducted a study to check the performance of an installed photovoltaic panels system. We analyzed the yield and performance of the system in comparison with the manufacturer's declared yield and degradation data for photovoltaic panels. At the same time, in order to assess the performance of the panel systems, the main indicator taken into account when it comes to any investment in sustainability it is the total cost of ownership ("total cost of ownership" / "TCO"). In this way, we can assess the performance of an investment from a financial point of view and not only from the perspective of return on investment ("return of investment" / "ROI"). In order to determine new ways for optimizing the use of renewable energy, in 2022 we investigated the applicability of a hybrid photovoltaic system. Thus, in the Braila 4 store we designed and sized a hybrid photovoltaic system with a total installed power of 157 kWp, which provides both hot water and electricity production. This system has a heat pump as its primary source, thus eliminating the need for a gas-fired thermal power plant to produce hot water. The installed capacity of the system is 131 kWp for the photovoltaic system and 26 kWp for the thermal system. Greenhouse gas emissions avoided due to the use of own photovoltaic panels (kg) Thus, emissions avoided by using photovoltaic panels are equivalent to: GHG emissions from the use of 2 867 car for one year GHG emissions from the use of 75 630 computers for one year GHG emissions resulting from the use of 68 331 996 hours of a TV set +117.20% +117.21% +117.86% 2021 2022 Carbon Dioxide 13 003 081 5 986 780 Nitrogen oxides 5 035 2 318 Sulphur dioxide 244 112 CO2 NOx SO2 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT PENNY ROMANIA 2022 146/250 SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY ABOUT US AND OUR VALUE CHAIN THE FUTURE IS MADE TODAY SUSTAINABILITY HIGHLIGHTS MESSAGE FROM THE GENERAL DIRECTORS CONTENTS SUSTAINABILITY STEP BY STEP
