Green energy procurement Since the beginning of 2022, we have been using certified green energy to power our stores, warehouses and headquarters. With this transition, we aimed to reduce our negative impact on the climate and the environment in general by reducing our carbon footprint and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. One of PENNY International's strategic goals for 2022 is to purchase 10% of the total group energy from green electricity (proven by certificate of origin where possible). At PENNY Romania, we have contributed to this group objective by purchasing certified green electricity which represents 89% of the total electricity consumed by PENNY stores and tenants. In addition, for the stores and logistics centers owned by REWE we consumed 97 602 211 kWh cetified green energy in 2022.
