RESOURCE CONSERVATION EXPLAINING THE IMPACT Regardless of the industry, all businesses rely on natural resources. In the case of retail, the availability of raw materials is a key factor significantly influencing the business, not only through direct financial implications on the supply chain, but also through the emergence of a range of legal obligations governing producer responsibility in terms of extended liability and the circular economy. Thus, conservation of resources means for us an opportunity to optimise operational processes and the need to fulfil certain legal obligations. At the same time, by managing resources properly and contributing to the development of an efficient national circular economy, we are taking an important step towards meeting our sustainability commitments. HOW WE CONTROL THE IMPACT We constantly focus on reducing and managing the resources we use responsibly. Each year, we monitor the consumption of water, consumables, packaging and waste generated. In 2022, we continued to implement initiatives to manage these resources efficiently. We supported the circular economy through selective waste collection projects and used packaging reuse systems in logistics. At the same time, we are constantly looking for ways to optimize our business to reduce resource consumption and use alternative sources in our processes. We are continuing the initiatives developed in previous years, which relate to the conservation of water resources, the use of sustainable materials, support for biodiversity, the use of reusable logistics systems, support for sound management and waste reduction.
