Interventions in the strategic area We focus on the well-being of our employees and equally treat our customers with respect and responsibility. Only together can we have a healthy and stable society. Our strategic objectives under this pillar are to create opportunities for social integration and economic development, to provide solutions to socio-economic challenges and to be a good citizen. We thus focus on three strategic directions: I. Employee development We work systematically and position ourselves for the future to attract talented young people and to link them to the company for the long term. We are again this year among the top organizations to be named Top Employer 2023 in Romania by the Top Employers Institute. The certification reflects the care and commitment to team and performance in our human resources practices. Our efforts have aimed to: z Continuation of the Leadership Program z 8th edition of the Football Championship z Development of the "4 months after hire" feedback programme z Digitization of human resources processes z Talent Pool z We have started a new programme: Career Succession Planning (CSP) – Employee Career Paths in the Company z New onboarding measures to improve results II. Social responsibility (CSR) Social engagement is one of the most important pillars of our corporate social responsibility policy. We carry out a wide range of projects and measures to help society. Supporting vulnerable groups, promoting social inclusion and access to health services, encouraging schoolchildren to continue their education and developing local communities are the areas we address. In doing so, we aim to: z Developing the strategic line Invest in children, invest in the future! z Establishing partnerships to implement the stages of this strategic line III. Managing food waste We strive to reduce food waste throughout the supply chain. As part of this effort, work is underway to: z Reducing food waste from our operations z Directing surplus food to charities z Consumer education through awareness campaigns Interventions in the operational area In order to meet our mission of sustainable development and to minimize as much as possible the negative effects that our activities may have on society or the environment, we are constantly working in the following operational directions: 'Employee Well-being', 'Social Responsibility', 'Local Communities', 'Education and Awareness' and 'Food Waste Management'. In 2022, we focused on the personal and professional development of every member of our team. The areas of focus were: z Developing leadership and specific skills, z Continue the process of mapping employees' career paths, z Developing Microsoft Office Excel skills, z Developing communication skills in English and German, z Launch of the second edition of My PENNY Own it. z Resumption of the organization of the Football Championship in physical format. We have continued partnerships with NGOs. 90% of all community investments were part of long-term partnerships. We also got involved for Ukraine with product donations. Our colleagues were also directly involved in volunteering and social responsibility actions such as: z Building the Community Centre in Buftea z Planting good deeds z Shoe Box Initiative z Bake Sale for colleagues Our achievements in food waste management: z We increased the rate at which food is marketed by improving automated ordering processes and stock flow z We have extended the ranges of some product categories where we offer, at a reduced price, foods that are approaching their expiry date. These can be picked up either directly in store or via the bonapp.eco app z We have expanded our network of partner stores with Regional Food Banks.
