Education and training programmes We focus on the development of our employees, who contribute both internally and externally with their knowledge. By achieving both professional and personal goals, our colleagues become more confident in the face of challenges. Development programmes can also lead to advancement up the career ladder. In line with the PENNY Human Resources Strategy, we have continued training sessions tailored to internal needs. On average, our employees received 23.31 hours of training per full-time equivalent (FTE), 22% more than in 2021. In total, our employees received more than 153 782 hours of training in organized training sessions, 3 848 of which were completed via e-learning platforms in 2022. z 23 trainings physically delivered z 141 online trainings Addressing sustainability topics plays a role in the company's education and training programmes. All new PENNY employees gain insights into general and specific sustainability topics as part of the onboarding process. In addition, specialized courses on sustainability are organized annually as needed. This year we conducted 75 hours of training on sustainability topics. The company is working to recruit as many qualified employees and managers from its own ranks as possible and to create a longterm relationship with qualified and motivated employees. In 2022, 433 employees took on a new role within the company, with 84 of those promoted to a management position. 11.6% of vacancies in 2022 were filled by internal candidates. 65% of these candidates were women. Developing leadership skills and specific competences A total of 1 446 employees participated in leadership programs in 2022. The Leadership School is the development programme for senior management in Stores and Logistics Centres. In 2022 1 446 colleagues participated, from Stores (Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers, Area Inspectors and Sales Managers) as well as colleagues in leadership positions in Logistics Centres. Leadership + Programme The Leadership+ programme is composed of 10 modules applied to the field of leadership and is dedicated to Headquarters employees in Head of Department and Top Management positions. In 2022 the programme was attended by 20 managers. First Time Manager This programme is dedicated to managers at the beginning of their career who want to improve their management skills and find answers to challenges through learning, experience and discussion with other participants. Topics covered included: the manager's perspective, growth mindset, confronting a different perspective, and more. During the reporting period, 2 members promoted to Team Leader participated in the programme. PENNY Academy PENNY Academy is a platform managed by the International Human Resources department that delivers a range of training available to all PENNY employees.
