Continuing the process of mapping employees' career paths Career Path is an internationally developed program, which aims to map REWE competencies to each position and level in the department, define development opportunities and career paths within the company for employees at Headquarters. We want to implement this programme for employee retention, giving them visibility on career opportunities in the company, including international opportunities. In 2022 we continued the Career Path Program, and this was implemented in the Human Resources and Internal Audit and Security departments. Trainee programmes We offer exciting and career-launching positions to university graduates who studied a wide range of disciplines. This year we had 9 participants in these programmes. The International Management Trainee Programme resumed in September with 6 participants from Austria, Italy, Slovakia and Hungary. The programme lasts 16 months and provides each trainee with the basics of retail, as well as an overview of the company. Participants start the programme in stores in their home countries and have the opportunity to sign up for interesting projects during the 16 months of study. Each participant then receives a personalized career plan to help them develop as best they can in this field. Our colleague from Romania, enrolled in the programme in 2021, was hired by REWE Group after completing the internship. As part of our partnership with the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, we offered opportunities to apply theoretical concepts in a paid internship focused on a sustainability project in the area of sustainable PENNY assortment development.
