HOW DO WE INTERACT? Public consultations Every year we launch public consultations to define the sustainability report to identify stakeholder interest in the material topics of our business. This year's consultation poll was delivered using the PENNY newsletter and online media and we managed to collect over 5 000 responses. Throughout the consultations we also request recommendations. We launch different market surveys to identify their needs in order to scale our business strategy and create synergies between the interest of external and internal stakeholders. Field visits We are close to our employees from different regions and together with them we identify the need in local communities. These visits help us quickly come up with solutions for the communities that need us most. We visit stores regularly and talk to their management and teams. It is also important for us to visit our partners (NGOs) with whom we have joint projects in different communities, to discuss approaches, constraints and the need for support. At the same time, we are also interested to meet the beneficiaries of the social responsibility projects implemented, to correctly identify the positive impact created. The procurement colleagues carry out regular visits to local manufacturers and suppliers both in order to meet their needs but also for calibrating the procurement needs for our stores according to customer requirements. Round tables A new concept we want to explore is the development of round tables. The first discussions on this format will be held under the aegis of the partnership with the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies (ASE Bucharest). Together with them, the PENNY team is analyzing 100 opportunities for the development of local businesses in industries such as agriculture, packaging or cosmetics, in order to find solutions that will be able to offer Romanians, in the near future, 100% Romanian products that align with the TripleRO (3RO) objective. To mark the launch of this initiative, PENNY is leading an open discussion on how business and local authorities can join forces to increase the number of local products consumers can find in stores across the country. Forums We are discussing the needs of different groups of product suppliers to understand how we can balance supplies and stocks. On the other hand, we are interested in their need for development. We aim to create synergies between businesses to achieve long-term success together. Social media We respond promptly to concerns about common issues of interest and communicate with stakeholders in an effective way through various methods. We continue to consult with our stakeholders through various means. Focus Groups We involve customers in the launch processes of new products and services and take into account the feedback received. The results of the last Focus Group organized with sustainability as the main theme were complemented by a quantitative study carried out in 2022, both reinforcing the decision-making on the material topics. Internal workshops The year 2022 was a year in which the involvement of internal teams was achieved through the development of several thematic workshops. The most important one was the strategic workshop on sustainability topics of the executive management together with the operational management in a mixed format with members of the national but also international teams. The workshop was moderated and facilitated by an external consultant and all the results will be strategically addressed in initiatives over the next years. Stakeholder engagement As we are used to, we keep close to all our stakeholders. We communicate proactively on specific topics or are close to them on various requests through communication channels open to them. We analyze consumer outlook and interest in products and conduct market analyses to understand their exact needs. We ensure a quick and efficient response to their expectations and concerns most of the time. Developing a stakeholder engagement strategy brings us closer to their needs and we can develop those strategies that help us ensure a balance between our operations and their expectations.
