Mircea BUCUR Head of IT Department Digital Responsibility We understand corporate digital responsibility (CDR) as supporting digitization and promoting digital skills to generate a positive impact on society and the environment. Transformation through IT and digital opportunities affects the retail industry. For example, food is increasingly bought through digital channels. We have identified and explored the opportunities arising from data processing, and base our offerings on customer needs. We apply solutions to design processes more efficiently. In terms of sustainability, responsible use of e-commerce services can add value. From marketing to sales and procurement to logistics, we promote digitization in all our business areas and follow digital trends. Among other things, this currently includes increasing the parallel use of online and offline channels for shopping. The development of an innovative omnichannel will therefore play a key role in our corporate strategy for the coming years. Informing our customers is also becoming increasingly digital which has resulted in the introduction of a leaflet distributed via WhatsApp, for example. Regardless of location, technology teams collaborate across multiple workflows to combine the best of both worlds – brick-and-mortar as well as online. For the cooperation of teams and beyond the IT unit, the topic of agility and flexibility is also being supported and further developed to promote a company culture based on sustainable principles. Employees, customers, business partners and other stakeholders can submit complaints or comments on digitization using the same portal mentioned in a previous chapter under Compliance. Employees have access to an IT hotline and ticketing system for reporting and resolving IT-related technical issues as well as clarifying questions and comments. During the reporting period we developed the topic of digital responsibility through diverse measures and projects. Some of these are presented below, with a common theme of responsible practice and sustainable development: z Queue Management Platform – optimizing the time PENNY customers spend at the cash register z Paperless office – implementing electronic signature z Digital commerce operation – implementing RPA to automate financial processes z Optimizing the use of paper in accounting processes in stores In 2022, we conducted 3 internal audits on cybersecurity, which identified 3 threats and remediated 3 cybersecurity incidents. Thus, we had no security breaches or thefts of personal or business data or contamination of the internal network with malware. In 2022, we added a cybersecurity training to our e-learning portfolio which is mandatory to be completed annually by all employees who have access to the PENNY IT system.
