SUSTAINABILITY REPORT PENNY ROMANIA 2020 118/132 Supporting food banks Out of our desire to reduce food waste and offer Romanians a sustainable solution, we continued the partnership with the Food Bank Collection and Distribution Association in 2020. The annual financial support of 10,000 euros was directed to Cluj, for the purchase of a refrigerated van, for the efficiency of food transports. As a partner of the Food Bank, PENNY has contributed to providing the products needed to cover basic needs for over 350 families in 7 different localities. Thus, food is made available to the Food Bank network to distribute the necessities of daily living to people with disabilities and disadvantaged backgrounds. The products reached the families who are in the care of the associations "Get up and walk!", Down Plus Bucharest Association and Association of Muscular Dystrophies in Romania, members of the National Council of Disability in Romania, but also of other organizations that help people with disabilities: Motivation, Alternative 2003, NANE, Swedish Organization, CONIL or Joubile. In 2020, PENNY International entered into a partnership with the European Federation of Food Banks (FEBA) to reduce food waste. The newly concluded partnership is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goal of SDG 12.3, which aims to halve global food waste per capita in terms of both retail and consumption by 2030. PENNY International, together with FEBA, wants to strengthen and improve the food donation process not only to reduce food waste, but also to have a positive impact on our community. At the same time, we are helping to increase food security in Europe in the context of the Coronavirus pandemic, which continues to pose a number of unique food security challenges in all countries. Social responsibility and local communities Our responsibility to society goes beyond our business. We are aware that we can have a great impact on society only to the extent that we collaboratewith the right NGOs. Over the years, we have developed many long- term partnerships. In the future, we intend to create a grant scheme to provide funding for projects that significantly contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of our company. In addition to providing high quality products to customers around the world, PENNY considers it important to play an active role as a community member. Recognizing the importance of addressing social issues, PENNY continues its commitment to improving the quality of life of vulnerable communities and groups. Our strategy has materialized through sponsorships, volunteering and the uninterrupted support of non-profit organizations with which we share the same values. In 2020, out of the total value of sponsorships, we allocated approximately 200,000 euros exclusively to social involvement projects. Together with our partners, we are actively involved in health promotion, in supporting socially disadvantaged people and we are close to the local communities by supporting investments in infrastructure (renovation of schools, dispensaries, land for sports activities). In this context, an important concern is the creation of long- term partnerships, on which all parties involved can rely. If possible, customers and employees are also involved in these projects. This strengthens the community spirit and expands the project coverage area.
