SUSTAINABILITY REPORT PENNY ROMANIA 2020 123/132 In order to make sustainability a broad principle adopted by our society, we believe it is our duty to constantly inform our customers. This way, we think that people will be able to include the principles of sustainability in their purchasing decision. We pay special attention to children and young people and promote a balanced diet and conscious use of food. In addition, we also focus on improving access to education and supporting educational institutions. Since 2017, we actively participate in supporting dual education in Romania and offer internship programs to young people who want to start a career in retail. Dual education programs PENNY supports, since the first edition in 2017, the dual training program Școala de carte și meserii (School of Books and Crafts), which combines theory and practice in a balancedway. The program, in which more than 100 students are enrolled, lasts three years and is supported by PENNY, in partnership with eight high schools in the country. For the school year 2021 - 2022, we want to attract in the program another 41 students from all over the country. The program has many benefits for students who enroll: • three years of training by an instructor who guides and providesmoral support; • monthly scholarship worth 200 lei; • lunch offered during the practice period; • transport provided from the declared address to the place of practice and return; •internationalprofessionalcertification; • the possibility of hiring in our stores immediately after graduation. Upon completion of the courses, students receive an internationally recognized diploma for commercial worker, as well as the opportunity to become our colleague. In 2020, the first class completed the courses and we are proud to have eight students who became our colleagues. Școala Meserie Viitor (Future Vocational School) - project dedicated to the Logistics department Starting with 2020, we joined the dual vocational school program Școala Meserie Viitor (Future Vocational School), organized in collaboration with the Ilfov County Council, together with the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce. The dual education system sums up a series of specialization courses in trade, organized in a high school and complemented by specialized practice in a company. It is a perfect combination of theory and practice to train future specialists. Thisway, PENNYadds anewqualification to its dual education programs: Receptionist - Distributor. In 2020, three students of the Nicolae Bălcescu Voluntari Technological High School joined us inn internship program at the logistics center in Ștefăneștii de Jos. Benefits: • Practical training with our colleagues from Ștefănești Warehouse; • Scholarship during the three years of study (200 lei from the state and 200 lei from PENNY). World Vision România: Professional Scholarship Since 2017, PENNY is partner of the World Vision Romania Foundation and offers supportintheformofmonthlyscholarships,internshipandemploymentopportunities for 100 students from the "I want in the 9th grade" program. The company's support mainly involves offering a monthly scholarship worth 150 lei, which covers: supplies, textbooks, monthly socialization workshops, critical thinking, entrepreneurship, vocational workshops, individual counseling and individualized support, including budget management.
