SUSTAINABILITY REPORT PENNY ROMANIA 2020 124/132 Risk management - Employees and community The new Coronavirus is a challenge for all of us, but it is not a reason to panic. The REWE Group team responsible for crisis management has taken and will take all possible protective measures for both employees and its customers. The REWE Group has expanded its disease prevention measures to ensure the health and well-being of its employees and customers. These measures include proper information of our employees and customers, based on recommendations from the Romanian Ministry of Health, the Robert Koch Institute and the World Health Organization. The high standards of cleanliness and hygiene of the REWE group ensure a high level of safety in its stores. For the safety of our employees and customers, these measures are subject to regular internal and external reviews. Health and safety at work was also at the forefront of our business before the pandemic. The constant concern for the prevention of unfortunate events at work has allowed us to keep their number constant from year to year. In 2020 we registered 21 such events, compared to 20 in the previous year, but only 14 PENNY employees were involved in them, the rest of the events being generated by collaborators of the company. In order to ensure the safety and health at work of both our employees and our collaborators, PENNY Romania concludes agreements with all providers, which establish the obligations of each party, as well as the conditions under which a worker of the provider may be allows access to REWE premises to carry out its delegated activity.
