SUSTAINABILITY REPORT PENNY ROMANIA 2020 126/132 ABOUT THE REPORT Purpose of the report The Sustainability Report for 2020 is the fourth report published by PENNY Romania. The report provides an overview of the company's business strategy and analyzes the economic, social and environmental impact generated by our daily activity. In this fourth report, we set out to highlight our local activities that are under the umbrella of the REWE group, but which we approach strategically and operationally adapted to the specifics of the Romanian market. Setting ambitious goals in the sustainability strategy places us among the organizations with a sustainable business approach and we want to add value to the sustainable development goals addressed by the 2030 Agenda, and to actively contribute to a sustainable low-carbon future in line with the requirements of the Paris Agreement. Our social and environmental responsibility is a contribution to balancing important and relevant material issues specific to the retail industry. Throughout the value chain, the needs for intervention are different thus we try to identify the risks and opportunities that will help us develop a healthy and sustainable business. Reporting period The report encompasses key aspects of the business, actions, challenges, results and performance of the organization for the period January - December 2020. It contains quantitative data compared to 2019 to highlight the evolution of specific indicators of our operational activity over time. Comparative data can be found for almost all indicators maintained by the reporting process. We will continue to report data on the non-financial performance of PENNY Romania every year, this being a priority for our organization. For us, transparency in the relationship with our stakeholders is very important, and reporting in the field of sustainability helps us to build a reliable relationship with them. Area of ​applicability of the report The area of ​applicability of this report includes the operations of REWE România SRL and REWE Projektentwicklung România SRL. The report presents quantitative and qualitative data on the way the company conducts its operations in România. References and reporting guidelines The report was prepared by the representatives of PENNY (REWE Romania) in collaboration with external partners: public relations specialists contracted by the organization, MSL The Practice, with the support of a qualified external consultant in the field of sustainability, Denkstatt Romania. This report has been prepared in accordance with the Sustainability Reporting Guidelines under the GRI standards 2018, Core option, with individual exceptions for indicators for which not all data could be collected. The GRI index summarizes howwe addressed all the requirements for indicators and communicating the information. External assurance This report was not independently reviewed by an external audit firm. We thank all those who contributed to this report, including all stakeholders both inside and outside the organization. Their suggestions and active involvement are for us current development elements, which will lead to the sustainable growth of our business.
