Waste management is one of the actions both to prevent the depletion of natural resources and to reduce the impact on the environment. By reducing,reusingandrecyclingwaste,wecanreduceour impactontheenvironment.Weencourage customers to collect separately the types of packaging for recycling, periodically organizing a series of campaigns in partnership with various stakeholders. Can-Pack Romania partnership Given that aluminium is the most valuable recyclable material and can be recycled countless times, without losing its properties, we have exploited this by continuing the partnership with Can Pack Recycling, by installing aluminium RVMs in 13 of our stores. Through this system, we collected over 360,000 doses of aluminium, the equivalent of five tons of aluminium. The collaboration between PENNY and Can Pack aims primarily our common concern towards improving the quality of life and protecting the environment, two aspects possible only through better resource management. At the same time, we managed to get consumers involved in the whole process of separate recycling of aluminium cans. The hygienic conditions and the transparency and the traceability of the collected doses turned the project into a successful one. ECOmania In 2020, the ECOmania competition organized by the Non Profit Alucro Association and supported by PENNY was part of the Guerrilla Verde educational caravan. In February - March of 2020, the caravan met with pupils from five cities in Romania. The purpose of this action was to inform and educate about the importance of selective recycling, pupils being guided to adopt a responsible behaviour towards the environment. Guerrilla Verde is the first caravan with an ecological mission in our country. Messages aimed at protecting the environment are transmitted through film screenings, debates and competitions on various topics.
