SUSTAINABILITY REPORT PENNY ROMANIA 2020 86/132 ExtravaCANza In 2020, PENNY collaborated with the Non Profit Alucro Association, for the third year in a row, in the ExtravaCANza campaign. This campaign is the result of an initiative of the Alucro Association, within the Every Can Counts project - a program present in 19 European countries. The aim of this campaign is to raise awareness among tourists visiting the seaside, on themajor importance of proper recycling of aluminium cans, but also their negative impact on beaches, when not properly recycled. Thus, tourists were guided to use the smart recycling device, specially installed in Mamaia resort. National Recycling Team A national recycling campaign organized by the Non Profit Alucro Association, was designed to collect aluminium cans and plastic bottles and was carried out in the form of a caravan that traveled through 10 cities, and stationed in each for three days. The route was a predetermined one, and some of the stations were right in the parking lots of our stores. We believe that such a campaign can make a major contribution to raising awareness of the importance of proper recycling. At the same time, we managed to associate the actions of recycling, sports, through the idea of the common effort that must be made, like the effort made by a football team. 67,889 doses of aluminium and PET collected (1,427.5 kg) 312,938 people got in touch with the message of the social media campaign 27,600 people came into direct contact with the campaign message 670 people participated in the campaign and received prizes 481 prizes and over 4,000 doses of Bergenbier beer awarded 30 days of campaign in which the collection was facilitated PENNY - A SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS MODEL | SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY | SUSTAINABLE ASSORTMENT | ENERGY, CLIMATE AND RESOURCES | EMPLOYEES AND SOCIETY | ABOUT THE REPORT | GRI INDEX
