Raport Sustenabilitate

IMPACT EXPLANATION Any economic activity depends on certain natural re- sources, regardless of the field of work. However, the retail activity, and in particular the retail focused on such a diverse segment like that of PENNY Romania, is also strongly influenced by the availability of raw materials on which the marketed products rely upon. Therefore, the conservation of any type of natural resources is an essential aspect for our company, both from a business standpoint and from the standpoint of the sustainability commitment undertaken by us. HOWWE MANAGE THE IMPACT We, at PENNY, consider that the conservation of natural resources is integrated in our business strategy, and is part of our environmental protection initiatives. In this respect, we make all efforts in order to correctly manage the energy consumption, we optimize the logistics processes, we use ecological materials in our processes, we support the ecosystem services and we contribute to the circular economy through correct waste management. We implement specific measures in this respect, either in-house through specific programs or via partnerships with other entities, by which we can add value outside our activity carried out at PENNY premises. Resource conservation OUR IMPACT AND PERFORMANCE IN FIGURES We constantly strive to reduce and properly manage the conservation of used resources. We monitor every year the consumption of: z water z consumables z packaging z general waste At the same time, we continued in 2021 to implement initiatives to manage all these resources, starting with supporting the circular economy through selective waste collection projects, up to the use of packaging reuse systems in logistics. At the same time, we are always looking to optimize our activity to reduce resource consumption and to use alternative resources in our processes.
