Promoting circular economy At PENNY, we do our best for a better world and a cleaner future. Customers who shop in PENNY stores help reduce waste through our campaigns: z "3 PACKAGES RECYCLED AND, ON THE SPOT, YOU GET A PRIZE" – customers receive discount vouchers for recycling three Tetra Pak packages. For this campaign, a special container was created and set up in stores for the selective collection of these specific Tetra Packs. The campaign occurred in 2022 in PENNY stores in Bucharest and Ilfov County and will be extended nationwide in 2023. z "Caring for Romania" – intelligent return machines for aluminum packaging. A campaign run together with Canpack Romania since 2017. In 2022, smart aluminum packaging collection machines were installed in 13 PENNY stores, with the help of which we collected more than 134,000 aluminum cans, equivalent to 1.7 tons. z Preserve the charm of nature – through the campaign, customers had the opportunity to return used containers to stores and take care of nature as they take care of themselves. For every 4 containers from the FARMEC portfolio returned to PENNY stores in Bucharest and Ilfov, customers received a gift product. z DONATE PLASTIC LIDS, DO A GOOD DEED! – Besides plastic bags and containers, plastic caps are one of the biggest polluters of the oceans and the environment. In 2022, we joined the innovative project for the collection of discarded bottle caps, developed by the Association Capace cu Suflet, and offered customers the opportunity to recycle plastic bottle caps, with the proceeds of this campaign being redirected to various humanitarian projects. We collected 12.2 tons of plastic caps in our stores, which encourages us to expand the campaign nationwide in 2023. z We put a price on the bag. We value responsibility – through this campaign, our customers could purchase compostable biodegradable bags from the vegetable section at a price of 0.09 lei/bag. The campaign also encouraged reuse of the bags.
