Sustainability Report 2023

Employee recruitment and retention We aim to provide a transparent and accessible recruitment process by implementing technology in the selection process. In all our stores, candidates opt for the use of Kiosk-type devices for the electronic submission of applications. Also, in the preliminary interaction, candidates who opt for roles in stores or logistics centers can start the recruitment process with the help of a chat bot that conducts initial interviews for available positions in stores. In this way, we hope to encourage potential candidates by presenting the opportunities offered in the retail sector, involving stable and flexible jobs and multiple development opportunities. After hiring, we ensure that all employees, regardless of gender or experience, have equal opportunities for promotion and emphasize their continuous development by assessing their learning potential, determination, and proven proactivity in the activity. We follow the well-established onboarding procedures for each business unit (headquarters, logistics centers or stores). Each new employee is drawn up with an onboarding plan, which includes the necessary steps and support people, to ensure a smooth and efficient transition within the company. After the onboarding period, we collect feedback from new hires through the "4 months from hire" program to evaluate and improve the process. In 2023, the hiring rate was 76%, representing the percentage of employees who left the company compared to the total number of new employees, in parallel with a total of 2230 employees who left the company. It is important to note that no employee is paid the minimum gross wage. We are committed to providing a positive working environment and supporting the professional development of each member of our team. 2 937 2 935 2022 2023 women men 668 < 30 years 642 1 062 30-50 years 335 182 > 50 years 48 women men 628 < 30 years 639 1 052 30-50 years 369 196 > 50 years 49 1 397 30-50 years 1 421 30-50 years 230 > 50 years 245 > 50 years 1 310 < 30 years 1 267 < 30 years Total number* of new hires by age, gender, and region** * Includes the total number of people employed in the entire year, regardless of whether those people remained with the company at the end of the year 2022 2023 Bacău 317 136 320 171 Ștefăneștii de Jos 438 199 410 154 Turda 349 155 358 171 Filiași 177 155 222 148 TOTAL 1 281 645 1 310 644 *** Includes the number of people employed during the year who remained in the company at the end of the year Number of active new hires at the end of the year*** by region ** The rate of new hires is calculated for each category of employees, by dividing the number of new employees in that category in that year by the total number of employees in the same category and the same year.  women  men SUSTAINABILITY REPORT PENNY ROMANIA 2023 194/256 MESSAGE FROM THE GENERAL DIRECTORS SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY AND GOVERNANCE ABOUT US AND OUR VALUE CHAIN ABOUT THE REPORT THE FUTURE IS MADE TODAY SUSTAINABILITY MILESTONES CONTENTS
