Health and safety at work We consider ourselves responsible for the health and safety of our colleagues, whether they are our own employees or external collaborators. Although we do not have a certified management system, we are committed to strictly complying with current national legislation and corporate requirements regarding occupational health and safety (OSH). Effective risk assessment We strive to provide the best conditions in the work process, so the internal Prevention and Protection Service helps us assess the health and safety risks for all workplaces in the organization. Among the details considered in this process, we list: z Means of production (materials, equipment and technology used in the workplace) z Workload/job (according to the job description) z Work environment z Hazards and risks whose existence is already confirmed and how they occur (mechanical, electrical, physical, biological, chemical risks, psycho-social risk factors, specific to the workload, etc.) z Work procedures, organization, and interaction of workers with materials/ equipment used z The type, likelihood, frequency, and duration of exposure to hazards. In some cases, they may involve the application of modern, approved measurement techniques. z The relationship between exposure to a hazard and its effect z Legal standards and requirements, which are relevant to the risks that exist in the workplace z Good practices in areas where there are no specific legal standards While we take steps to minimize the unpredictability of accidents, they can happen. In such cases, the processes of investigation of events intervene, which aim to establish the circumstances and causes that led to their occurrence, the legal regulations violated, the responsibilities and the measures that are required. As a result, remedial measures are determined to prevent the occurrence of other similar cases, by: z Retraining workers on topics such as: the importance of personal protective equipment and the purpose of its use, how to handle equipment covered by ISCIR, rules for the use of electricity, electricity consumers at work points, handling of electrical panels, responsibilities of management personnel in terms of occupational safety and performing personnel, first aid. z Reassessing risks and communicating them, along with potential consequences and measures to be taken z Periodic assessment of OSH knowledge z Purchase of equipment compliant with current legislation in the field of OSH z Verification of employees' compliance with OSH obligations/rules through workplace managers, zonal inspectors and representatives of the external prevention and protection service z Optimization of OSH actions within the company z Promoting social responsibility to support the authorities' efforts in implementing the legislative norms in force, both national and European (by presenting the provisions of the normative acts, presenting current issues for the activity of the company's staff, with a practical applicative component, and concrete examples from the workplace, debates of concrete situations) Equally, all active employees are eligible for the medical protection program that we provide through private medical insurance, which we rethink and adapt annually so that it addresses the most relevant medical needs for employees. Among the services provided are medical recovery/balneal/physiotherapy/kineto-therapy services, psychology services, outpatient medical services, general and specialized medicine consultations, assisted medical transport for medical emergencies. Additional benefits, such as private health insurance, the possibility to consult psychologists, and the like, are aimed at increasing the overall health of our employees. The well-being of our employees is extremely important to us. Therefore, we conduct periodic health checks before hiring a new employee and provide the necessary personal protective equipment in the areas where it is needed. Employees are actively involved in the development of OSH processes. Workers and their representatives are consulted on the risk assessment, the establishment of preventive measures and are encouraged to report to the next level any change in the workplace that could lead to the creation of a risk or the occurrence of an accident. The reporting is made hierarchically, to the next level, the work points being coordinated by the designated workplace manager, who is also the one who takes the necessary measures.
