Sustainability Report 2023

Within PENNY, there is an Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) Committee, whose composition is changed whenever necessary and every two years, with the election of workers' representatives. The responsibilities of the SCSM are established according to the provisions of the updated Government Decision 1425/2006, regarding the methodological norms for the application of the provisions of the Law on Safety and Health at Work no. 319/2006. One of the primary measures through which we are committed to sustainably promoting the health of employees and preventing any aspect that would endanger their health and well-being are specific trainings, and in 2023 we have conducted: z 175 047 hours of training on the topic of Occupational Health and Safety (OSH), including specific hours for Persons in charge of Supervision and Technical Verification of Installations (RSVTI) to qualify for the use of special work equipment z 365 287 hours of training about Emergency Situations (SU) Regarding the partners and subcontractors working on our work sites, they are registered at the entrance to the work areas and checked in advance that they are qualified, according to the legal requirements, for the work they conduct. They also receive basic safety awareness training and general introductory OSH training at the entrance to REWE work sites. To minimize the associated risks, an agreement is concluded between REWE Romania and the partners, which contains the OSH/SU rules and measures that must be followed throughout the duration of the contract.
