DAR Scholarships Partner: Hope and Homes for Children Association Purpose: To support performance in education for children from disadvantaged backgrounds Through this project, we offered excellence scholarships worth 2 000 Euros each for 15 children from disadvantaged backgrounds, thus supporting their social and professional integration. Guided by social workers, the young scholarship recipients will use the scholarships to support their performance and not to abandon their dream. Part of the project is also the Fellows' Camp, held between August 21-23, 2023. For three days, the fellows participated in activities with the Hope and Homes for Children team, but also with the Foundation's ambassadors. In the camp, the fellows participated in games and stories about us, about the world, about plans, dreams and vulnerabilities. The second moment of the project is the DAR Scholarships Gala, held on November 23, 2023. During the Gala, the scholarship recipients were awarded and celebrated. Every year, we will aim to support excellence where lack and vulnerability risk robbing the right to success. Together we are transforming education in 1000 schools by 2028 Partner: Association for Values in Education Purpose: To support the transformation of the education system in Romania In 2023 we joined AVE’s mission to bring the Romanian education system into the Top 10 in Europe by 2035, involving professionals from business, education and civil society who resonate with this vision. Thus, the project is directly addressed to school principals and teachers to further support the educational development of students. In the 2022-2023 school year, 805 schools participated in the program, totaling 128 700 students and 8 160 teachers. This project involves a close collaboration with the teaching staff of the schools, pursuing activities dedicated to teachers and activities dedicated to the principals and the school such as interviews, self-assessment, feedback; action plan for the whole school; specialized courses on 8 areas; consultancy for attracting funding, mentors with management experience. A PENNY colleague, in 2023, was a mentor for a School Principal. Part of the action to support a School Principal was the project "WE RECYCLE FROM A YOUNG AGE!". 220 preschoolers from the kindergarten with extended program no. 14 THEY LEARNED to selectively collect waste, which are the effects on environmental pollution and the benefits of recycling and engaged in interactive activities and games on ecological topics. In addition, we launched a short cartoon for children, we set up a space for selective collection and recycling for children, and we also offered themed games to each group of preschoolers.
