We manage the development of local objectives and initiatives through our Sustainability Committee2, which functions as a hub of ideas and decisions in Romania. This committee oversees operationalizing the initiatives, as well as controlling and monitoring performance. Our sustainability strategy is subject to regular reviews, which consider customer feedback, competitive market analysis and developments in the political sphere. The Sustainability Committee is chaired by the CEO of PENNY Romania, who coordinates a dedicated team, including a Sustainability Manager and other key functions responsible for managing the operational aspects specific to each strategic pillar, structured in Operational Subcommittees. The Sustainability Manager is responsible for coordinating sustainability initiatives and collaborating with departments within the company in terms of data management and analysis, marketing, communication, sustainability project management within the construction, procurement, logistics, human resources, and other teams, as well as with external stakeholders, to ensure that we act in accordance with our business directions. corporate social responsibility, to raise awareness among both peers and external stakeholders. Through collaboration and exchange of expertise and best practices within the Working Committees, we approach strategic initiatives in a transparent way and provide support in the implementation of projects, to ensure the achievement of the economic, social and environmental objectives of PENNY Romania in an efficient and efficient way. The Committee meets quarterly or whenever necessary to discuss topics of major interest or importance. During the preparation period of the annual report, the CEO and the Sustainability Management team are involved in compiling data on the organization's performance. They pay particular attention to the review and approval of reported information, including material topics relevant to the organization. We debate the materiality matrix and define the reporting areas in close connection with sustainability and business strategy, with a particular focus on data and figures that reflect the operational impact. The final information is verified both locally and internationally by a key function designated by the REWE Group. The sustainability report, once completed, is reviewed and approved by the CEO of PENNY Romania and then published for the organization's stakeholders through various online channels, especially on the PENNY website, in the "Sustainability" section. Through the extensive resources we allocate to sustainable development, we can say that we have reached a level of maturity in this field, but we are aware that any process has room for improvement.
