2024 Sustainability Report

Use of green electricity the owners of the rented spaces or their own electricity production using photovoltaic panels or electricity supply produced by diesel generators, used as a temporary/off-grid solution). Using one's own renewable energy generation capacities not only reduces the use of energy produced from fossil fuels, but also contributes to energy independence, which is particularly important in times of unprecedented increases in energy prices. Thus, we continued to expand the network of photovoltaic panels, reaching 108 systems, serving 104 stores and all 4 logistics centers. In 2023 we became prosumers with 29 stores, and in 2024 we expanded to - 41 warehouses, contributing a total of 343 601 MWh to the national grid in the reporting year, thus contributing to the increase in the percentage of renewable energy available in the Romanian grid. 7% Photovoltaic energy (internally produced through photovoltaic panels and consumed directly by PENNY stores and logistics centers) 10% Electricity from renewable sources for leased spaces, according to the electricity production in Romania in the reporting year (hydroelectric, wind, biomass, solar, other renewables) 83% Renewable electricity with certificates of origin 2024 Distribution of energy from renewable sources within PENNY sites in Romania Since 2022, we have started using certified green energy for the electricity needs of our stores, warehouses and headquarters, with the aim of minimizing the negative impact on the climate and the environment, by reducing our carbon footprint and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As part of PENNY International's strategy for 2024, we have set a goal for 10% of the group's total energy consumption to be green electricity, with certification of origin where feasible. We have contributed to this strategic target by ensuring that in 2024, 84% of the total energy consumption of PENNY stores, logistics centers and Tenants is covered by certified green electricity and 7% of green electricity produced domestically through photovoltaic panel systems. In addition, in 2024, PENNY stores, logistics centers and Tenants in REWE spaces used 114 649 137 kWh of certified green electricity (does not include electricity chosen by SUSTAINABILITY STEP-BY-STEP CORPORATE GOVERNANCE AND BUSINESS SUSTAINABLE ASSORTMENT ENERGY, CLIMATE AND RESOURCES EMPLOYEES AND SOCIETY INDEX GRI & SASB ENERGY, CLIMATE AND RESOURCES
