Material consumption As part of our marketing and promotion activities, we focus on the use of recycled paper and eco-friendly leaflets, as well as other environmentally friendly printed media. In 2024, our total paper consumption nationwide (including leaflets and marketing materials) was 4 806 tons, compared to 4 627 tons in 2023, which means a specific consumption of 15.47kg/m² in 2024. Of this total amount, 1.55% are represented by paper consumption in the administrative headquarters. In 2022, we launched our internal "paperless office" program, out of the desire to have a job that has a minimum number of paper-based processes and is based on digitized documents. Fortunately, the digital transformation has allowed us to replace many of our paper-based processes with ones that are more economically, environmentally and physically efficient. In this regard, in 2024, we have reduced by 11% the average monthly paper consumption used in our stores for printing documents. Today, complex processes such as contract creation, signing, and management are simplified and digitized using a platform for contract management, or electronic document signing. We have continued the measures to further reduce this quantity by developing the PENNY flyer distribution service via the WhatsApp mobile application*. Thus, our customers can subscribe for free to receive all our promotions and offers directly on their phone, thus contributing to the reduction of paper consumption easily and quickly. This year, we recorded a consumption of 327.8 tons of stretch foil for automatic palletizing, 16% more than the previous year, when we used 283 tons of stretch foil.
