4. Hercules Association – BufKids The year 2024 marks a special moment in the partnership between PENNY and the Hercules Association – the beginning of direct, constant and dedicated support for the daily meal of the children who attend the BufKids Day Center. Starting this year, we offer a monthly amount of money that is transformed into food products from PENNY stores, thus helping to ensure a warm and nutritious meal for the little ones. Hercules Association is a non-governmental organization that fights poverty and social exclusion through education and support for children and their families. At BufKids, 50 children aged between 6 and 14, from vulnerable backgrounds, receive daily education, food, psychological counseling and participate in recreational activities and reading clubs. PENNY has been with this project since the construction phase of the center, contributing to the realization of the canteen that offers the hot meals daily. In collaboration with Habitat for Humanity Romania, 523 volunteers dedicated over 3 000 hours to turn the dream into reality. In 2024, we sponsored the installation of photovoltaic panels, providing a sustainable source of energy and reducing the operational costs of the center. Through this support, we want to offer more than food – we offer the chance for a dignified childhood, education, personal and emotional development. The children's families benefit indirectly, and the BufKids team gains valuable experience in implementing social programs. We will continue our commitment next year: we will support the center's canteen monthly with essential food products, so that each child has a hot meal, day after day.
