Thus, the Sustainability Manager holds a strategic role, focusing on the overall sustainability vision andalignmentwithintheorganization.Keyresponsibilities include strategic development, sustainability project management, regulatory compliance coordination, management of the data management framework and sustainability reporting, communication management in line with the sustainability strategy, development of internal sustainability capacities and resources, as well as sustainability committee and budget management. The Sustainability Alignment Forum , part of the operational management structure, includes all department leaders and functions as a platform for pre-alignment and escalation. It meets three times a year and performs the following duties: • coordinating the development of the sustainability agenda, • monitoring progress towards objectives, • Proposing corrective measures • preparing decision topics for the Sustainability Steering Committee. Through this framework, PENNY Romania aims to ensure robust sustainable governance, capable of meeting ESG requirements, managing sustainability risks and opportunities, and contributing to long-term organizational transformation. We manage the development of local objectives and initiatives through the Sustainability Operational Committees , which are organized for each sustainability pillar. These committees are in charge of operationalizing initiatives, as well as controlling and monitoring performance. Our sustainability strategy is subject to regular reviews, which take into account customer feedback, competitive market analysis and policy developments. The Sustainability Operational Committees meet monthly to develop projects, align next steps and make operational decisions. Joint sessions are also organized twice a year, with an extended duration, for workshops and alignment on cross-cutting topics.
