The study aimed to carry out a materiality analysis of all relevant sustainability topics for consumers. This analysis aimed to identify and prioritize sustainability topics that have been or will be particularly important in the next 3-4 years. The results obtained provided a clear perspective on emerging trends in the field of sustainability, helping organizations to better align with consumer expectations. The study was carried out in several European countries, including Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Slovakia and Romania, the latter being included for the first time in this research. The study was originally conducted in 2023 and was repeated later, with questions slightly tailored to reflect changes in the sustainability landscape. The research focused on three main sustainability themes: • Sustainable Assortment Analysis of how the products and services offered by companies have aligned with sustainability principles and consumer expectations. • Energy, Climate and Resources Assessing consumer perceptions of resource efficiency, environmental impacts and climate change initiatives. • Employees and Society Investigating consumers' expectations regarding corporate social responsibility and how they engaged with local communities. Through this analysis, the study aimed to provide a solid basis for the development of sustainability strategies, adapted to the needs and concerns of consumers in various countries. Visits to the territory Our commitment to local communities is strengthened by working closely with our employees on the ground. Through the visits we carry out together, we quickly identify the needs of communities and develop effective solutions to support them. Regular interaction with teams and store management allows us to align with their goals and challenges. It is essential for us to meet and discuss with our partners, NGOs, with whom we carry out joint projects, in order to better understand the approaches, limitations and support they need. We are also interested in knowing the direct beneficiaries of our social responsibility projects, in order to assess the positive impact of our initiatives. Our purchasing team makes regular visits to local manufacturers and suppliers, ensuring that their needs are understood and that the purchasing process is aligned with our customers' requirements, in order to provide the best shopping experience in PENNY stores. Forums We held discussions with different supplier groups to understand their specific needs and identify ways in which we can optimize the sourcing and inventory management process. At the same time, we have shown interest in their development plans, with the aim of building synergies between our businesses that contribute to long-term joint success. How do we interact?
