In 2021, we strengthened the partnership with the home delivery platform, Glovo. The delivery of products from PENNY stores to consumers’ houses implies the emission of high quantities of carbon. The packaging (delivery bags) is a substantial and wasteful component of food delivery, which affects the environment after the utilisation. The implementation of optimised routes, covering as many delivery points as possible by using the minimum amount of time and resources, is a sustainable approach to be developed in the framework of our partnership. In the future, we envisage the implementation of a monitoring system for home delivery which reports the distances travelled.
