The verification and certification of PENNY stores process, supported by the ADP Green team, has several goals: z the increased comfort of PENNY customers and employees z the reduction of resource consumption z the reduction of stored and operational carbon footprint of the stores z the protection of biodiversity and local fauna z the support of circular economy and transport z the completion of social governance and environmental policies of PENNY Romania New stores, initially certified BREEAM in Use, will be recertified once every three years. Thus, we are laying the foundations for a policy to monitor and improve the sustainability of our stores. Also, over time, the maintenance and investment plans will also be analyzed from the point of viewof the stores' impact on sustainability in relation to the communities in which they operate, with the surrounding, built and natural environment. The long-term development potential of the project has been materialised in 2021 by the BREEAM in Use certification of 11 newly opened stores, an exemplary action at European level.
