We educate the consumer We place an emphasis on raising the society's awareness level by launching campaigns and activities dedicated to reduction of food waste. On the occasion of International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, we wanted to raise the awareness of the importance of changing the way in which food is produced and consumed. Whereas the consumers are responsible for most of the food waste, PENNY runs information and education campaigns dedicated to its customers. In 2021, we have published ”Anti-Waste Code of Manners”. The basic concept of the campaign is that food is an extremely valuable resource. The people who grow our food invest an enormous quantity of work, commitment, energy and natural resources. But, once it is bought, the food becomes the consumers’ responsibility and it is up to them to avoid the waste.
