A sustainable business model We have integrated into our operations initiatives that lead to achieving strategic objectives. This integration was realized pragmatically because PENNY Romania is an essential player on the Romanian retail market. We ethically approach business with respect for human rights, with correct and honest business approaches and practices, andwe are always close to our stakeholders. Our business model is balanced; we create local partnerships based on the principle of transparency and address our consumers using responsible marketing means. We are aware that our desire to differentiate ourselves from the competition can be achieved by fulfilling the needs of several stakeholder groups. We are the promoters of sustainability as a whole. Our strategy aims to create a positive economic, social, and environmental impact on our community. Business governance is based on the principle of engaging stakeholders in development processes. We are attentive to the financial implications for businesses and other groups of external stakeholders. Our effort is focused on creating business resilience in the context of significant changes at both macroeconomic and microeconomic levels. We use market research that identifies changing consumer perceptions. Many factors determine the quality of life. We try to operationalize the activity to reach the changing need of our consumers. We recognize risks in the market and most of the time manage to turn them into opportunities. Each country has delegated a representativewith strict responsibilities for sustainability. In addition to the division of duties by country, we have created a PENNY International team dedicated to sustainability that ensures the best decisions are taken to strengthen the sustainability strategy. A dedicated international committee was formed to include sustainability practices in the day-to-day activity established by the REWE Group. This committee also functions as a decision-making and idea-generating body. The development of local objectives and initiatives, the operationalization of industries, and the control andmonitoring of performance are carried out locally in Romania by the Sustainability Committee.
