Raport Sustenabilitate

Value chain We want to be a promoter of sustainability in the companies in which we operate, and to achieve this we analyse any potential impact of our activity on environmental and social factors. We also consider external risks and opportunities in the governance and performance of our company. We assess the risks and try to mitigate any adverse effects created. To do this, wemust start with a correct determination of the value chain inwhich we can make a positive impact that can support our vision and mission of sustainability. We constantly evaluate the value chain and try to identify new processes or needs to which we can make a positive contribution. We know the importance of the needs of our stakeholders with whomwe collaborate throughout the value chain, whether they are manufacturers, suppliers, employees, or subcontractors from REWE logistics centres, PENNY stores, customers, academia, etc. We know that stakeholders directly influence our business through the supply or product distribution chains. Compared to the previous year, there were no significant changes in the location of the supplier, the structure of the supply chain, or the relationship with the suppliers, including the procedures for selecting suppliers or terminating contracts. Therefore,we continue towork to improve the capacities of theseactors in the supplyand distribution chain, withwhomwe actively collaborate to ensure the sustainability of the products and services offered by PENNY. We achieve this by qualitative and quantitative control of supply and by developing ecological and social criteria in supplier selection. The products sold by REWE România involve the collaboration with numerous actors in the value chain: manufacturers, suppliers, REWE logistics centres, PENNY stores and customers. The goods we receive from them are examined by our employees who are regularly trained on topics related to hygiene and other requirements for handling goods. Regarding external suppliers, we have developed sustainable supply chains based on principles of sustainable development, supply control, and the development of ecological criteria in supplier selection. At PENNY, innovation manifests itself in remodelling stores in the Future Store format for the customer experience to be as pleasant as possible. We are constantly working to improve the range of business, internal processes, new communication, and payment tools. The store infrastructure includes increasingly more digital elements, such as the communication system with headphones for employees, electronic price tags, or electronic monitoring of the fresh pastry stock.
