At PENNY Romania, we are aware that to meet the EU's climate and energy goals for 2030 and to achieve the goals of the European Green Agreement, our investments must be directed towards sustainable projects and activities. We are on a common front and we want to report green investments because they are part of the organization's sustainability strategy. On the other hand, we are aware that we also have operational costs aligned with these investments that we will have to report in the future. For this, the first step of 2021 was to establish the activities that fall within and are subject to the EU taxonomy. We started mapping the relevant ones so that next year we can highlight the revenues attracted fromgreen investments and we canmake the ratio by total income, nature, and value in green investments (CAPEX) and the total value of operating costs for these green investments (OPEX). PENNYRomania takes all necessarymeasures toensure the sustainability of thebusiness. Therefore, we invest in green projects that add value to the business and also to the community. We have made investments in the development of a new assortment line, "Food for Future", aimed at vegan consumers. At the same time, we have increased the number of traded ecological items. More information and details in chapter 4 Sustainable Assortment and chapter 5 – Energy, Climate and Resources. We have also invested in campaigns to raise awareness and educate the consumer in the process of recycling packaging, used batteries and how they can reduce food waste in the household.
