Local communities IMPACT EXPLANATION The future is made today, together. We stand by the local communities by supporting the infrastructure investments - renovation of schools, medical dispensaries, sport playgrounds. We are concerned with the creation of long-term partnerships, on which all stakeholders can rely upon and, we encourage the involvement of our customers and employees in the projects undertaken by us. Thus, the community spirit is strengthened and the project coverage expands. HOWWE MANAGE THE IMPACT By our collaboration with NGOs sharing the same values, we have developed many long-term partnerships. Our strategy has materialised through infrastructure investments intended to support local communities and urban development. At the same time, we aim for the sustainable growth of our company and the expansion of the network of PENNY stores and logistics centres, in order to bring a positive impact in creating jobs, thus improving the quality of life in the communities where we operate. OUR IMPACT AND PERFORMANCE IN FIGURES In 2021, the total value of the sponsorships was approxi- mately 80 000 euros, dedicated exclusively to local infrastructure development projects, urban development in the communities where we operate. In our stores and logistics centres, we have over 5 800 employees in Romania. When new stores are opened, communities benefit from infrastructure investment, taxes, as well as a wide range of social activities undertaken by PENNY employees. By doing so, PENNY generates an important impetus for the development and growth of the regions in which its stores operate.
